Better than an excellent tutorial by two times

Sean Ellis discovered that when customers were given access to the software without a demo, their 6-week retention cohorts fell by 50%. (despite a pretty good onboarding tutorial).

 

It was clear that those who didn’t receive a demo weren’t making the best use of the product. By demonstrating the features and outlining the advantages of using them, they were able to increase retention.
