They had no idea as to why.


They made the decision to ask people, and they discovered that they were unaware that they could log in via social providers.

They mistakenly believed that these were sign-up buttons because there were only the logos of social providers, not actual links to social networks.


So, Auth0 modified the social media logos to include the logo plus the words “Sign up with X”.


Conversions went up by 33% as a result.
